GeoStarQT
GeoStarQT is a plug-in for the Qtegra software from Thermo Fisher. The plug-in delivers seamless integration between the iCAP range of ICP–MS instruments and the GeoStar laser ablation control software.
Main benefits of the plug-in are:
- Monitor the laser ablation instrument, including the video display, directly from the Qtegra software.
- Control the laser ablation instrument, especially the ablation conditions, directly from the Qtegra software: enhanced ease of use during tuning.
- While ablating the sequence both instruments remain perfectly in step: never miss a trigger signal again!
- Send the sequence list from GeoStar to Qtegra with just one click.
- While ablating the sequence both instruments monitor their operating conditions: any deviation from the correct conditions will terminate the sequence and both systems will stop - protecting samples and conserving consumables.
- At the end of the ablation both instruments can shut down automatically.
- At the end of the ablation the laser ablation instrument will automatically send all log files over to the Qtegra software, consolidating records of the sequence in one convenient location.
- The LADR log book is automatically sent to the Qtegra software, ready for data reduction.
- Operation of the plug-in is 100% compatible with the new end-to-end workflow for LA–ICP–MS data collection.
- Multiple Qtegra LabBooks can be chained together, each one configured to start at a specific point in the GeoStar sequence.
Operating Requirements
To use the GeoStarQT plug-in you will need:
- iCAP ICP–MS from Thermo Fisher running Qtegra, at v2.10 or later.
- Laser ablation instrument running GeoStar from Norris Scientific, at v10.09 or later.
- A TCP/IP laboratory network joining the two computers.
